The definitions given are no-nonsense and to the point without all the origins and weird stuff that is frankly clutter in my big dictionary. For the Scrabble player this book is absolutely essential for those Challenge moments. However, if you are simply in need of a basic dictionary, I'd recommend this little guy, too. The font is big enough that you can read without glasses and the binding is good enough to last many years, even on the little paperback. Get it.
